'So I'll remove the cause but not the symptom'-Rocky Horror
*Sorry about the dreadful facial expression
*My little sister! Ahh I love this picture. I really do. It has a kind of story to it, you know?
A quick 'photo shoot' with the little sister as the sun went down. We chased it up the hill behind our house and found it a great place to snap a few(or a ton-sorry about that) pics. I tried having my mom take a few shots of my outfit but it didn't turn out. So I recruited my sister for the job! She did wonderfully, really. She had a bunch of creative ideas and gave good direction, and because of her knack we closed with an abundant amount of useable photos. Thanks a million, sis! This look is one of my favorites for summer: dress from New York and Company, blouse from Target(super soft! also, I cut the sleeves off of it), hat was given to me by my step-mom, purse from Modcloth, shoes from a thrift store. I really like the tied-in-front look. I am also having a thing for hats lately? I need to get me some more wearable ones so I don't bore people with this same one over and over again...Other things: 1.The marvelous weather we have had lately that left me with no time to be inside on my computer(and therefor no posts since Friday) and a little bit of color to my pasty skin 2.Finding my moms Princes' greatest hits in her car-highlight of my week 3. The Zumba class I am taking on Wednesdays that totally kicked my butt today(SO fun btw-seriously. I couldn't do the moves right and looked like a total spaz but it was good to let out my inner insanity-I mean, more than I usually do;))4. Beach day tomorrow with my friends! Fun fun fun!
Ahh time to hit the sack though. Long day tomorrow.

'I sailed my ship of safetly till I sank it'-Indigo Girls
*Support the Rabid= Purchased in NBC studios (the joke is from The Office).
Ah, finally a (mostly) sunny day! Too bad I have spent most of it cooped up inside doing housework. Ah, well. Hopefully tomorrow will be as nice as the weathermen have been promising, I am desperately in need of some time in the sun. Apologies for my cracked nails and mediocre photography- I am on top of it. Promise. Looking forward to some time spent doing actual summer stuff this weekend. No summer school on Fridays so I finally got to sleep in today! Glad I got to an outfit post, too. Fashion is the main reason I started this thing in the first place so I should be posting it way more often. Skirt from Goodwill ($4.55;)), tank from Target, shoes from Everyday People, belt from JCP, jewelry from here there and everywhere(mainly gifts from people I care about). Next on the agenda: grocery shopping. Yay for Target and its one-stop-shop convenience!
P.S. The closeup on pins=a shout-out to my recent pin obsession and the joy this new found accessory has given me. They go on/with everything. Literally.

Food with personality
So the other day my little sister decided to decorate our food with permanent marker and give them a new sense of life. I thought it was pretty much the cutest thing ever:) SUCH a creative girl. Future artist? Maybe in her spare time-being a princess is going to be hard work she says;) I think my favorite one is the ninja lemon, or the devil egg. Also it's been unusually gloomy and chilly in MN these past couple weeks! Where is summer? Where are the warm, sunny days? The weather is supposed to be nice for the weekend so maybe things will cheer up! And just in time for my little sister's birthday party (and possibly a day spent lounging at the sort of community pool set aside for our town home complex). BIG DEAL: I went to The Goodwill for the first time in my life. You could say my life has been completed. And summer school is not as bad as I anticipated it to be...whew! Load off my shoulders. Anyway, I have been trying to soak up summer to the best of my abilities because in the blink of an eye it will all be over:( I try not to think such thoughts.... On the bright side I plan to have an outfit post soon (way past due-my B!) which will keep me busy which is a good thing. You see, if I get bored I eat. If I eat I gain weight. If I gain weight I look bad in a swimsuit. And then my summer stops for a little bit (until I exercise a bit, eat better, and finally get back to my normal self again). So another summer goal: practice self-restraint with food. Along with teach myself to rap, start a blog(check!), and buy myself a nice pair of shoes. Okay, I'm babbling. One last thing:THIS satchel makes me die a little bit inside. Wish I had extra $ to spend on such things...xoxo

Trying new things
Girl time with one of my besties(who also happens to be my only follower so far!) last night! Did our nails, ate turkey Manwiches, and listened to summer playlists. Used these nail sticker things and they worked fabulously! They were easy to put on and are a super fun pattern. I am looking forward to showing them off :). Today is my first day of summer school and I am kind of nervous, sort of like first day of school butterflies but much more subdued. I will hopefully finish my semester up quickly so I can freely enjoy my summer without the burden of summer school dragging me down! Fingers crossed-

P.S. Sorry about the bad photography- I have a better camera that I will be fixing up soon.

NYC baby!!
*My first NYC hotdog from a street vender!!
*At one of the cathedrals that we went to. I feel bad about not knowing which one but we went from place to place really quickly so I have some excuse!
*Mural for Lennon after he was murdered. Stands for so much more than just that, though. So symbolic.
*In between these two light poles is where Lennon was shot by a man that he had given his signature to a few hours earlier.
*the night after we attended this show we were granted a backstage tour by one of the main actors. he was so nice to do so and it meant a lot to the aspiring rag-tag group of theatre kids:)
*Me inside Radio City Music Hall's women's bathroom. So fancy and luxurious!
*Murals inside the women's bathroom!
*Rockette costumes through the ages. I almost died.
*Lemon cupcake that I thoroughly enjoyed! Bought at the cutest little shop:)
*Shirtless Hollister models that legitimately get payed to hang outside the shop! I am not a Hollister girl but this brought a smile to my face!
*:D
*Outside the New York Public Library! Never actually went in despite my yearn to...
*Me eating an NBC studios lollipop while riding the luxury bus that we were fortunate to ride for the week.
*Graffiti
Ahhh my week or so in NYC... so much happened but mostly I fell in love with the place...I didn't take many pics because I was trying to soak it all in in the short amount of time that we spent at each location, but now I regret not doing so! Ah, well. I'm certain that others will put theirs on Facebook so I will survive. The moment I stepped out of the airport and inhaled the exhaust that arose from the taxis that dwell there, I knew that New York City was a place unlike any other I had ever been to. It had a sort of busy magic encompassing it. There were people everywhere. Endless amounts of people as far as the eye could see. People with accents, people who spoke other languages, people trying to sell you things, people talking on phones, people biking, people walking, people weaving through the crowds, people smoking, people saying goodbye, people saying hello, people just living. It was a beautiful mass of people. We got so much done each day- moving from place to place super fast, waking up early, getting to the hotel late, cramming as much into the day as we possibly could. My regrets: not taking enough pictures, chickening out on spitting my gum off of the Empire State Building, and not going to the Savage Beauty exhibit at the Met. Museum of Art. We got an average amount of 5 hour of sleep a night, and by the end of it all we were ready to drop. Also we ended up staying a night in Kansas City Nebraska because of the weather. It's funny, you know? The unexpected things that happen and the funny places you end up. It was the adventure of a lifetime and I am so grateful to have experienced it with such a wonderful group of people. I got home around 11 am yesterday and after sleeping for 18 hours straight(well, almost straight. I got up to eat of course;)) I made a list of tasks to accomplish today. I felt as though I needed to do so because we finished so much each day in NYC that I felt that I had to continue getting stuff done in a timely manner back home as well. Hopefully I will be posting outfits up soon! Traveling left me with comfy boring outfits so they weren't worth posting. Anyway, it is fathers day! I have to go soon to visit him and give him his gift (a The Office magnet from NBC studios!) quickly because then we are going to get flowers and stop by my grandfathers grave and be home by seven when one of my besties is planning on stopping by. Ciao for now-
