It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

This is from a couple weeks ago-my sis and I running around in the first snowfall of the year. In love with sweaters like this. They make winter bearable and can be worn a couple of different ways.

P.S. Yeah it has not snown here pretty much since then so we have no white to make it look like Christmas at the present:(

Those who care, don't matter. Those who matter, don't care.

This dress + these shoes + that blazer = perfection. This is my go-to when I am feeling not-so-creative with my clothing. I still feel fabulous even though I didn't put much effort into it. Plus this is comfy. And warm enough for MN winters. Add, of course, a statement necklace, bracelets, earrings, and rings. The jewelry brings any outfit from just plain well-coordinated to fabulous. Even though I usually just end up taking some of it off throughout the day because it gets in the way...

Shameful(ly adorable)

This is my friend Sylvie, and yes, she dresses like this all the time. I adore her not only pleather, but brown pleather, not only skirt, but midi skirt. I die for her outfits. I would not mind living in her closet. She is so adorable it's shameful. She will definetly be popping up more frequently on kissesfromakitten. I just get super lazy and don't get around to hauling my camera to school with me. :P But on the subject of shameful: I was at Mall Of America recently, and there was a show thing going on with the Vikings cheerleaders? They came onto the makeshift stage scantily clad, with knee-high boots? After executing some not-so-appropriate moves, they exited the stage. I turned to my friend and declared that what I just saw is shameful. I just think that dressing up like that and doing vulgar moves is not a positive image. It is shameful and I think that these girl's should be embarassed. I get the positive aspect of cheering on one's team, but I just think it is wrong the way they do it. I know that cheerleading is not just dressing up and waving pom-poms around. It is a legitemate sport. And I salute that. But the woman announcing things said that these were "some of Minnesota's most beautiful women". I don't know about you, but I think of beauty as something that comes from within. From being proud of who you are. From giving and smiling and living, respectively. And who knows, maybe these women are all of the above. I just think that if these people had a positive image of what women should act like and look like, and if they respect themselves they would wear more clothing and do actual dancing and set a positive image for the young girls of today. I get it, dressing up is fun! But are you serious?  Can you wear an actual shirt? And some pants? Booty shorts should not be worn in public, ladies. There are some excuses, but really? Come on. It is innapropriate, and shameful.

P.S. Pin Party anyone? Pins are where it's at. With safety pins clustered with them. Mm-hmm!
P.P.S. Also notice one of my fave sweaters? Yeah we have been bonding over the cool weather in MN...It is going to be a great winter with it by my side, faithfully keeping me warm...

Kisses On A Cardigan?

Wore this to school sometime last week. I love including my axe T-shirt in a supergirlyoldschool outfit like this. It's like one of those things that are polar opposites? I can't think of the word right now...anyway... I love this cardigan as well because it is supercomfy and goes with everything. I adore skirts like this because they show off one's waist magnificently and I feel so girly when I wear them. Also the color of this particular one makes me drool. MN is getting super chilly and the first snowfall happened two days ago! It was magical. And Christmas music is playing on the radio!! Love it. But on a more serious note, a couple of my friends and I had a near-death experience earlier today. I won't go into details, but it just put things into perspective. My life didn't flash before my eyes or anything, but it did make me think. Chris Allen's song Live Like We're Dying perfectly summs up my feelings now. Life can be over for someone in the blink of an eye, and it is important to remember that it can happen to you. When people are young, I think that sometimes they feel invincible? With their new freedoms and opinions they think that nothing can touch them and they get on some sort of a high. And they can forget to be grateful. This experience happened at the perfect time, now that I think about it, with Thanksgiving right around the corner. This year I am most thankful for being alive, the people I love, and the opportunities I now realize I have everyday and need to take advantage of. I'm not making sense. Sorry, I'm not good at getting my thoughts together. Fail at trying to be deep. Just, if you are reading this and have something even mildly important that you haven't told someone or any business you haven't taken care of/been pushing off...just do it now while you can. You never know what can happen. You are not invincible. Mario can be. Human beings are fragile and breakable. Make the most of life while you can. Seriously, just do it.

Sorry if my swag is distracting you (again)

So, flashback to the 70's anyone? Don't mind if I do. I am loving that flares are in again. Yet again, I would wear them more if they were not 'in' to be honest. This pair I bought from Macy's and they are ridiculously comfy. Like the sweatpants I never owned (JK I have Zubaz...). This kind of outfit is sure to pop up a ton in the winter that is coming. It gets dang cold in MN...Girl's gotta keep warm.

P.S. Check this out please. I die for it.

Long time, no see!

\

So I wore this outfit to the library the other day for some study time. I like the tucked-in look. For me it feels more professional. Also I found this sweet pearly collar at an estate sale a couple weeks ago and it spices up my boring t-shirt days without fail. This is a good winter outfit because it keeps me warm without hiding my figure. Finished up my school's production of Alice in Wonderland. The last pic is of my makeup and hair after a performance. It had gotten smudgy and my hair a little bit more flattened. It was such a fun experience and I met so many wonderful new people (and grew closer to some old friends) and I am sad it is over...Also I am used to having a tail to carry around with me and I miss it terribly as well...Ah, well. Life goes on. Up next: Shakespear auditions! Woo!
